When it comes to Cadillac CT5 Sedan LATCH system installation, you need to consider your seat type and where to properly connect. LATCH anchors at the top and bottom of the rear seats can secure your car seat in place, but depending on the weight and orientation, you need to set it up the right way. That’s why Wilkinson Cadillac has put together this installation guide so you can protect your kid.
Find Your Anchors
Every Cadillac CT5 Sedan comes with LATCH anchors in the rear seats that you use to properly secure your kid’s car seat. Anchors are located both at the top (behind the seats on the rear panel) and at the bottom (between the seatback and cushion). These anchors will be labeled with the LATCH system logo, depicting a child in a car seat, so you can identify them.
Connecting a Rear-Facing Car seat
The anchors you need to use depend on what kind of car seat you’re connecting. If your child restraint is rear-facing and the combined weight of it and your child is more than 65 lbs, you must connect via the seat belt. For a combined weight less than 65 lbs, you can latch via the seat belt or the lower anchors only.
Connecting a Front-Facing Car seat
What if your child has a front-facing restraint? If the combined weight is less than 65 lbs, latch the seat with the top tether anchors and either the lower anchors or the seat belt. If it’s more than 65 lbs, you must hook with the seat belt and top anchors.
